Nick is a Landscape photographer based in Glasgow, but with strong family ties to the Highlands and Morayshire. Having had a camera in some shape or form most of his life, Nick started to get more serious about photography when he got his first Digital SLR in 2014, and what was initially a curious venture into more professional level equipment quickly became a full blown hobby and obsession with most of his spare time being devoted to the craft.
There’s nothing he likes more than a dramatic landscape with stormy skies, and you are far more likely to see him out with his camera when the sky is dark and full of foreboding than on a sunny day with clear blue skies. Luckily, in Scotland this is not difficult.
Like many photographers, Nick enjoys the solitude and escapism that photography brings, and loves to get away from the city to the wide and open spaces so richly available in Scotland.
Nick was Highly Commended in the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year competition in 2018, and was a Category Winner in the Historic Environment Scotland Photography competition during the same year.
