Brian Cathie is an amateur photographer based on the outskirts of Glasgow, he first took up photography in 2008 when he joined Kirkintilloch Camera Club. While Brian is happy to shoot many genres of photography, it is his love of Scotland and its magnificent scenery that has made landscape photography his preferred choice of subject.
He says “Scotland with its majestic mountains, wild moorlands and rugged coastline has an abundance of beautiful and spectacular locations to photograph and through my photography I have visited many of them. Getting out with my camera and capturing images brings me great pleasure, but to go on and produce a beautiful print that reflects what I have seen, and to be able to share it with others is immensely satisfying”
In 2019 Brian was awarded the FIAP Gold medal for ‘Best Monochrome Landscape’ at the 96th Scottish International Salon, an achievement of which he is particularly proud.
