Photographer & Head of the Society
Davie’s style can and has been described as dark, but it’s a darkness that adds calmness and serenity to the images.
Being a film shooter all of the images in the exhibition have been shot on film and all scratches and blemishes have been left… life isn’t perfect and Davie feels images should represent his vision on life, that includes wear and damage which shows the life we all have had. Davie says ” I am a big fan of the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-Sabi which embraces impermanence and the natural cycle of life and all of my images need to represent that. Shooting film I have found is the perfect way to achieve this”
All of the images are framed in vintage sourced frames making them editions of 1 that can never be recreated and this is something Davie does with all his images.
